"Caicedo has been our best player this season"

Cole Palmer scored in stoppage time from the penalty spot to condemn Premier League champions Liverpool to their third defeat of the season and secure a key victory for Chelsea's bid to qualify for the Champions League.

Moises Caicedo also played a big part in the Blues' win over the Reds, successfully holding off dangerous attacks from Arne Slot's side, something Palmer was keen to highlight after the victory.

The former Manchester City player, who has been the star of Maresca's side this season, labelled the Ecuadorian midfielder as his “most important player” this season.

"Caicedo has been our best player this season. When you have got him in front of you, it's a dream. He wins the ball back all the time, he's humble, nice to everyone and everyone loves him," Palmer said.
