Brutal clash of heads in Nigeria friendly

Balogun, newly-signed by Premier League outfit Brighton, was totally knocked out on the grass. The medical staff entered onto the pitch to attend to both players but it looked as though the defender came off worse.

The clash of heads occurred in just the fifth minute of a friendly against England, as preparations get fully underway ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

Almost two minutes after the incident, Gary Cahill's scorching header found the back of the net to put England ahead in the first blow to the African team. 

Nigeria will be hoping that the injury has no serious repercussions as they seek to kickstart their World Cup campaign as the group stages approach. They will face Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
