The Football Association has imposed a two-match touchline ban on Liverpool manager Arne Slot following his dismissal in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw against Everton at Goodison Park.
Slot was shown a red card for approaching referee Michael Oliver on the pitch after the final whistle of the fiercely contested Merseyside derby.
The Dutch tactician will be absent from the dugout for Liverpool's crucial home fixture against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening and the visit of Southampton on 8 March.
However, Slot will be permitted to resume his touchline duties for the Champions League last-16 first-leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain on 5 March.
The FA's disciplinary action does not just affect Slot, as Reds assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff has also been handed a two-match ban for his involvement in the post-match incident.
Liverpool and Everton have been fined £65,000 for the Reds and £50,000 for the Toffees for failing to control their players during the heated encounter.
Liverpool will go through this period without their manager on the sidelines and will be tested on their ability to maintain their impressive form.
