Bournemouth's Enes Unal suffers second ACL injury in training

Enes Unal, Bournemouth's forward, has reportedly suffered a devastating setback with a anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during a training session according to 'Relevo'. This marks the second time Unal has faced such an injury, coming just 595 days after his previous ACL tear while playing for Getafe.

The Turkish international, who made his move to Bournemouth permanent in May 2024 after a successful loan spell, had been showing promise in the Premier League. Unal's initial loan to Bournemouth in January 2024 came after he had missed most of the first half of the 2023-24 season due to his previous cruciate ligament injury. 

"We are devastated to confirm that Enes Ünal has suffered a tear to his right anterior cruciate ligament during a training session this week. We are all behind Enes and the club's medical and performance staff will support him in every way possible," stated Bournemouth on X.

During his time at Bournemouth, Unal had made 16 league appearances and scored twice, demonstrating his ability to contribute to the team's attack. The club is yet to confirm the extent of the injury, with further tests pending to determine the exact nature of the damage.

This setback is particularly cruel for Unal, who had been working hard to establish himself in the Premier League after overcoming his previous long-term injury.
