Betis star Isco named UEFA Conference League Player of the Season

Betis midfielder Isco Alarcon was named Conference League Player of the Season 2024-2025 by the UEFA Technical Observers Group, a day after the final in which English side Chelsea won the title by defeating the Sevillian side (1-4) in Wroclaw (Poland).
The 33-year-old Spanish midfielder played a key role in the Andalusian side's qualification for the first European final in their history, in which the Chilean Manuel Pellegrini's eleven dominated the first half and took the lead, but Chelsea came from behind in the second half.
2 goals in 9 games, with 3 assists, the third last night in the final, and 63 passes per 90 minutes are the figures for Isco, who will return next week to the Spanish national team after six years, to play in the Nations League finals, in which Spain defends the title in Germany.
UEFA confirmed that in addition to Isco, the Conference League Team of the Season features teammates Youssouf Sabaly and Natan in defence.
The full eleven consists of Filip Jorgensen (Chelsea) - goalkeeper; Youssouf Sabaly (Betis), Tosin Adarabioyo (Chelsea), Natan (Betis) and Robin Gosens (Fiorentina) - defenders; Svit Seslar (Celje), Isco (Betis) and Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea) - midfielders; Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Afimico Pululu (Jagiellonia) and Tokmac Nguen (Djurgarden) - forwards.
Swedish Djurgarden midfielder Tobias Gulliksen was named Young Player of the competition this season, in which he made 12 appearances, scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists and 29 key passes and the best goal was Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis' goal against Dinamo-Minsk on matchday 6, in which his club won 4-0.
