Bergvall commits to two more years with Tottenham

Lucas Bergvall had turned down Barcelona to join Tottenham Hotspur just last summer, penning a deal until June 2029. But after less than a year at the Premier League club, the Sweden international has committed to two more, signing a new contract earlier on Tuesday, valid until June 2031.
"We are delighted to announce that Lucas Bergvall has signed a new contract with the Club, which will run until 2031," reads a statement from Spurs. "Having reached an agreement with the Club in February 2024, Lucas joined us later that year on 1 July from Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgarden."
"An excellent debut campaign has seen the 19-year-old make a total of 45 appearances in all competitions to date, with his first coming against Leicester City in our opening game of the 2024/25 season", the north London side added, praising their young summer signing.
On singing the extension, Bergvall said: "I'm excited and grateful to everyone who helped me and for the journey to continue. It's a club with great ambitions. I'm enjoying being here." Bergvall could earn his first major trophy, as Spurs play Bodo/Glimt in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
