Karim Benzema disappeared from Saudi Arabia. He did not go to training with Al Ittihad and that set off all the alarms. The local press even claimed that the player left Jeddah without warning. Nothing could be further from the truth.
An Al Ittihad official explained what happened to the Saudi media. "Benzema went to Madrid due to particular circumstances. He asked for three days off, which the club ended up granting him," he said in statements reported by 'AS'.
The Saudi club official, who did not give his name to the press, made it clear that the striker is committed and that his trip to the Spanish capital has nothing to do with his future. "Karim is a professional and is committed to the team," he said.
The Saudi League has taken a break until February. Benzema, for unknown reasons, would have asked Al Ittihad for permission to spend a few days in Madrid and the club would have given it to him willingly.
Despite the criticism he has received in recent days, which has led the former Real Madrid player to make less use of social networks, this manager assures that nothing has changed. The French striker wants to continue scoring goals in Saudi Arabia.
