Bellingham absent from England training to attend funeral

After last Saturday's poor win over Andorra to open their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign, the England squad is still focused on preparing for Tuesday's friendly against Senegal. A match in which Jude Bellingham could be a doubt.
According to the English Football Federation, the midfielder will be absent from training on Monday, although not due to injury, as Bellingham has been given permission to attend the funeral of a family member.
He is expected to return later this afternoon and rejoin the national team training camp at St Georges Park, the FA's headquarters in Burton upon Trent. Depending on his state of mind, Thomas Tuchel could consider whether to give him minutes against Senegal at Wembley.
In the match against Andorra, Bellingham started alongside Henderson and Palmer in midfield for the Three Lions, who won with a solitary goal from Hary Kane early in the second half. The assist was provided by Noni Madueke and the Real Madrid midfielder was substituted in the 91st minute.
Once his time with England is over, Jude Bellingham will join Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid, who will be training in Palm Beach, Florida, for the Club World Cup. He will make his debut against Al-Hilal on 18 June
