Bardghji bids farewell to Copenhagen, kicks off Barcelona pre-season

Roony Bardghji posted a video on social media on Sunday, bidding farewell to Copenhagen and joining his new teammates for medical tests at Barcelona, who subsequently released the first images of the player in the club training kit.
The 19-year-old Swedish U21 international winger arrived in the Catalan capital on Friday. Although his signing remains unconfirmed, he was present at the Joan Gamper Training Ground on the first day of pre-season, undergoing standard medical and physical assessments with the rest of the squad.
Before embarking on this new chapter, Bardghji bid farewell to his former club in an Instagram video: "Copenhagen fans, after five years at the club, it's time to say goodbye. It's time for me to take on a new challenge, and I want to thank you for everything. This club has meant a lot to me, and I will forever treasure the incredible memories."
Bardghji, who returned to action last April after an eleven-month layoff due to a serious knee injury, thanked the Danish club's supporters for their unwavering support: "In good times and bad, you have always encouraged me. I will never forget it; you will always be in my heart."
The forward highlighted his goal against Manchester United in the Champions League on 8 November 2023 as his most memorable moment at the club. The 87th-minute strike secured a thrilling 4-3 victory for the Danish side.
Bardghji, born in Kuwait and also a Swedish national, is a left-footed winger who primarily operates on the right flank, renowned for his excellent dribbling ability. He is set to join the Camp Nou club for 2.5 million euros.
Barcelona confirmed on their website on Monday that the attacker will integrate with the first-team setup and, depending on the impression he makes on coach Hansi Flick, could secure a place in the senior squad.
