Barcelona set for Joan Gamper showdown with Italian side Como

Barcelona have confirmed that Como 1907 will be their opponents in the 60th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy. The match will be played on 10 August at 21:00 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Como 1907 play in the Italian Serie A and have former Barca players such as Cesc Fabregas and Sergi Roberto in their ranks. In addition, defender Alex Valle, who trained at La Masia and made his debut with the first team in a friendly, is also part of the squad.

The match was initially scheduled to take place at the Spotify Camp Nou, but was eventually moved to the Estadi Johan Cruyff. This is not the first time the stadium has hosted the Joan Gamper Trophy, having hosted a double-header against Juventus in 2021.

The Estadi Johan Cruyff was inaugurated in 2019 and has a capacity of 6,000, with a design that aims to bring fans closer to the pitch. The venue is home to Barca B, youth A and the women's team, as well as being a symbol of the club's history in honour of Johan Cruyff.
