Barcelona move closer to securing Kounde contract renewal

Jules Kounde's contract renewal with Barcelona is getting closer and closer to being finalised. The Catalan giants have stepped up talks to secure the French defender's continuity beyond 2027.

Since his arrival from Sevilla in the summer of 2022 for a fee of around 50 million euros plus variables, Kounde has lived up to expectations.

The player has established himself as a right-back under the guidance of Hansi Flick and has the support of both the sporting management and the coaching staff.

According to sources close to the negotiations, Barcelona are keen to finalise the renewal deal during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City, as revealed by journalist Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sports, showed recent interest in the French player. However, Kounde himself and his entourage have ruled out any possibility of an exit in the current transfer window.
