Barcelona deny Nico's guaranteed registration clause

However, the same media adds on Friday that Joan Laporta and Deco have said no. They will not give in to this request.

FC Barcelona's legal services have warned that if the club accepts such a clause, Laporta and his top management could have major legal problems. If the Catalan side were finally forced to let him go after paying 62 million euros, this would be an economic disaster that could lead to sentences and fines for squandering the club's assets.

The club are much more relaxed than they were a year ago. Barca insist that they will not have the same problems as with Dani Olmo, who could not be registered until the third matchday and thanks to Andreas Christensen's injury. That this year they are much closer to La Liga's 1:1 rule and that they have the resources to register both Joan Garcia and Nico Williams once they close some deals that have yet to happen.

The aforementioned Catalan media adds that Barca's top management will hold a meeting with Nico, his agents and his closest family members in the next few days to find out his final decision. If he arees to commit himself or if he finally says no. He has offers, and better ones financially, such as the one from Bayern Munich, who are offering him 12 million euros. But the Athletic winger will have to see what he prioritises.
