Barcelona break off Rodrigo negotiations

Rodrigo Moreno will continue at Valencia until the end of the season after being, once again, one step away from crossing the Mestalla exit door. According to media sources such as 'SER', 'COPE' and 'Mundo Deportivo', Barcelona have decided to stop the operation completely.
The main and apparently only reason has to do with the amount Valencia are asking for to accept the transfer, which would reach 60 million Euros. At the Camp Nou they see the price as unbearable and, therefore, they will not continue the negotiation.
The Valencia board intended to cash in on Rodrigo now and not wait until July, including a purchase option that Barcelona did not want to be compulsory. Furthermore, they apparently asked for players such as Carles Perez and Semedo, which Barca didn't agree with.
'Vamos' could indicate that around 8.20 pm this Tuesday that the latest meeting ended and Oscar Grau, Abidal, and Jorge Mendes, as intermediary and agent, left the offices with everything already frozen.
After the events of the last hours, it seemed that Rodrigo's future was at Barca because even Celados admitted that such a possibility existed.
"The negotiation for Rodrigo is open," the manager said in the pre match press conference fro the cup match, for which Rodrigo is not in the squad. In addition, Rodrigo was seen in Barcelona to visit Dr. Ramon Cugat for his sprained knee.
So far Barcelona's attempt to get Rodrigo's signature and Luis Suarez's replacement has not come to avail, so they have three days left to get that sought-after striker. Rodrigo stays, as it happened with Atlético in summer, with his suitcase practically packed for nothing.
