Barca's five alternatives to Kounde

The arrival of Jules Kounde to Barcelona is proving a difficult task for the Catalan club. Chelsea's desire to sign him has thrown a spanner in the works in Joan Laporta's attempt to bring the Frenchman to the Camp Nou. The English club are ready to put an offer on the table for the defender that Barcelona will have great difficulty in matching.

Because of this, the Barcelona board have been busying themselves in finding an alternative to Kounde. They are desperate to meet expectations and find a centre back of similar quality to the Sevilla man.

On Twitch, Gerard Romero recently revealed five names that suit the profile of defender Laporta is looking for should the main target make a move to Stamford Bridge.

The chosen ones are: Spaniard Inigo Martinez (Athletic Club, 31), Frenchman William Saliba (Arsenal, 21), Brazilian Roger Ibanez (AS Roma, 23), Slovakian Milan Skriniar (Inter de Milan, 27) and Croation Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig, 20).

It is not the first time that some of these players have been linked to 'Los Cules'. The best example of this being Inigo Martinez who has been close to signing for Barca for years. All of the names on the list are fundamental to their respective teams as they are all nailed on starters.
