Barca's Araujo misses Villarreal clash with discomfort

Ronald Araujo was forced off with an injury in Barcelona's 2-0 win over Espanyol midweek, which sealed their 28th La Liga title, and is now ruled out for the penultimate match against Villarreal.
The Uruguayan centre-back has not been able to recover from knee discomfort and has been excluded from Hansi Flick's 23-man shortlist for Sunday evening's clash at the Montjuic.
Araujo joins fellow defender Jules Kounde, midfielder Marc Bernal and forward Ferran Torres in Barcelona's list of absentees. 20-year-old Sergi Dominguez has been called up to fill in for Araujo at the heart of Barca's backline.
The La Masia product already counts six appearances for the first team this term, and will be looking to aid Barca to a win, which would see them maintain their unbeaten run in 2025.
