Banega had a rush of blood and kicked Pere Pons in the chest!

The image of Banega leaving Montilivi, asking for medical assistance for Pepe Pons, highlighted Sevilla's setback against a Girona side which took a big step towards survival thanks to a goal from Portu. 

After the ony goal of the game, Sevilla tried to rescue a point which never arrived. In the last play, Ever Banega, who already had a yellow card, lifted his two feet and kicked Pere Pons in the chest with his studs showing. 

The referee did not hesistate and showed Banega a straight red, who even could miss what remains of the season. An action which depending on what the Federation's Competition Committee decides, could lead to a ban of up to four games. 

An important loss for Caparros and Sevilla, who lost a good chance in their fight for a Champions League place. Banega, has seen 17 yellows and two red cards this season. One for two yellows and a straight red.
