Mario Balotelli continued his prolific form on Friday, heading home his 22nd goal of the season to score Nice's 3,000th Ligue 1 goal.

It was an important night for Nice as they faced Lille OSC in the league, with the club needing just one goal to reach the incredible landmark.

Only five French teams have surpassed the 3,000 tally (Marseille, Saint-Etienne, Bordeauz, Sochaux, Monaco and Lyon) but Nice can now add their name to the illustrious list thanks to their Italian striker.

In the 5th minute, Balotelli beat his marker to head home a corner and score his 22nd goal of the season (14th in Ligue 1), to take the French club to 3,000 league goals overall.
