Bale: 'Wales will be ready for 2020'

The two China Cup matches marked former player Ryan Giggs' first fixtures as the Wales coach. The squad will next face Mexico in Pasadena in May in an international friendly ahead of the League of Nations.
After losing out to Uruguay following a goal from Edinson Cavani on Monday, Bale spoke with Welsh football programme 'Sgorio' and said: ''Ultimately we're disappointed, we thought they were for the taking. But when the major games come around in the qualifiers we'll be ready.''
Bale also pointed out that the squad is adjusting to their newly appointed manager. He added: ''It's been important having the new manager in and everybody settling down, getting to know his ways.''
For his part, Giggs praised Uruguay's performance and despite the 1-0 loss, took the opportunity to test out some of the young players on the international scene.
The former United player said: ''You look at Uruguay and they have a lot of quality and depth, perhaps we haven't got that as much as other teams. But I'm really happy with a lot of players from this tour, not only in the games but what they've shown in training.''
