Rumoured Man City target Badstuber is 'a fantastic player', says Guardiola

Guardiola hinted that City will be moving in the next days to bolster what he considers a short-handed defence and made no effort to disguise his appreciation for the German international whom he coached during his two-year stint at Bayern.

"Now, on the table, there are no names because we had a lot of games," Guardiola said. 

"But now we have 10 days until Everton, so we have time to discuss with Txiki [Begiristain], with the club, what is the best for the rest of the season."

"I know Holger, he's a fantastic player, a fantastic guy, but he's a Bayern Munich player, and we should first of all speak with them and with him."
