Atletico president labels rumours about De Paul and Inter Miami as 'supposition'

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said on Monday, regarding the future of Argentine Rodrigo de Paul, that "everything is supposition" and that at the moment "they don't know" what will happen to the World Cup winner with the 'Albiceleste', a 'Colchonero player since 2021.
"It's all supposition, to tell you one thing or another is to be right or wrong. At the moment we don't know," Cerezo told 'Radio Nacional de Espana' (RNE) in relation to the possible departure of De Paul from the Spanish club and his possible move to Inter Miami, where his compatriot Lionel Messi plays.
The 'Rojiblanco' president spoke about the fifteenth season of the also Argentine Diego Pablo Simeone at the head of the 'Colchonero' bench and expressed that he is "with the same illusion and joy as when he came 13 or 14 years ago" and that everyone is prepared to have "a great season".
"The illusion in him is an innate thing, nobody is going to take it away from him. We're going to try to win everything we play, which is what we're here for and what we're really making this team for. Then circumstances, luck, which is a very important factor, can give you one solution or another but unquestionably what we have to do is fight to go out and do what we go out to play for, which is to try to win the league, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey," he added.
Finally, Cerezo gave his opinion on the workload for the teams: "We have to look at the schedule because there are a lot of games played by the players who play in European championships, plus the Spanish championships. Then the national teams, plus FIFA, UEFA... there are a lot of games and I think they have to control it.
"The Club World Cup is all very well, but you can't do everything in a month, especially when you have to start a season a fortnight later," he concluded.
