Aston Villa closing in on 18-year-old Norwegian talent

After a busy January transfer window, with Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio landing at Birmingham on loan deals from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively, Aston Villa have already started working on summer arrivals.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Villains are closing in on an agreement on personal terms with Sverre Nypan. The Norwegian youngster has been on the Premier League side's radar after impressing at Rosenborg BK last term.

Nypan registered 8 goals and 6 assists from 28 appearances in Norway's top flight last season and has already found the back of the net once in the 2024/25 campaign, which has only been underway for less than a month.

The Italian transfer expert informs that after contract details between Aston Villa and the 18-year-old talent are finalised, club-to-club negotiations will follow between Unai Emery's side and Rosenborg.
