Asensio still undecided on Mourinho reunion as Fenerbahçe prepare for UCL qualifiers

Marco Asensio is having second thoughts about Fenerbahce. Weeks ago, his signing for Jose Mourinho's team was considered a done deal. However, rumours soon gathered pace that the Spaniard had rejected the Turkish club's offer, despite its financial attractiveness.
The 29-year-old is said to have turned down a salary of between €9 and €11 million per season. The Istanbul club were prepared to pay around €10 million for him, or even splash out €20 million to PSG to include Milan Skrinniar in the deal.
For now, it seems the player from Majorca has other plans, although sources in Turkey insist that this stall in the operation can be overcome. The negative for Fenerbahce is that they play their Champions League qualifier against Feyenoord in barely a week. This Wednesday, they conclude their friendlies with a match against Lazio and will face the crucial European tie, if nothing changes, without the Spaniard, although with Jhon Duran, a high-calibre addition.
Milan, Inter and Villarreal are among the teams Asensio has been linked with since his move to Istanbul stalled. For the time being, he continues to train with the reserves alongside Carlos Soler, awaiting the return of Luis Enrique's side from the Club World Cup, where they reached the final and lost the title to Chelsea.
