Asenjo makes Villarreal history with appearance versus Celta Vigo

Villarreal thrashed Celta Vigo 0-4 this Friday in a match which saw Unai Emery's side, in the Champions League places, play the perfect game. 

Gerard Moreno, Moi Gomez, Dani Parejo and Fer Nino were the goalscorers in a contest which also saw goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo make history. 

The goalie played in his 231st game for the Yellow Submarine to go ahead of Diego Lopez's 230. That means he is now the goalkeeper to have played the most number of matches for Villarreal. 

"This was a special match, everything that I hoped for has happened: we've won, kept a clean sheet and I've gone past Diego Lopez in competitive appearances," Asenjo said post game.
