Arsenal are reportedly after Sevilla's Ever Banega to replace Aaron Ramsey, who looks to be leaving the club ahead of his contract running out next summer.

Argentine midfielder Banega worked under 'Gunners' boss Unai Emery in Spain, who believes Banega could be key in the Premier League.

30-year-old Ever Banega would join a list of slightly-older signings that Arsenal have made recently, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Sokratis and Stephan Lichtsteiner, showing the club is more concerned on current success than building players for the future.

Contract talks have broken down between Arsenal and Aaron Ramsey, with the Welshman thought to be forcing a move to Liverpool.

This would leave a position open for Banega, who has scored five goals in 15 appearances already this season for the Andalusian side.
