Arsenal advance talks to sign Gyokeres for £70m

Arsenal are in talks to sign Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of around £70m. The London club have focused their efforts on closing the deal in recent days, with sporting director Andrea Berta leading the talks.
Although negotiations are progressing, a definitive agreement has not yet been reached and Arsenal remain cautious until all contracts are signed.
Gyokeres, 27, has been a prolific goalscorer, scoring 97 goals in 102 appearances during his two seasons in Portugal. His potential arrival would be an important addition to the Gunners' attack, who have identified the addition of a new striker as their top priority this summer.
Last Sunday, Arsenal completed the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for £60m, strengthening their midfield. The potential signing of Gyokeres represents a significant development in the club's sporting planning for next season.
Sources indicate that talks on personal terms with the player are also underway and are progressing positively. Arsenal are hoping to close the deal soon in order to bring Gyokeres in for pre-season and prepare for the new season with a competitive squad.
