Argentina race to 2-0 lead

Argentina have got their semi-final off to the perfect start against Croatia after racing to a 2-0 lead after just 40 minutes on the clock.

First was Messi, who expertly converted into the top-right corner from the 12-yard spot. This keeps his hopes of finishing the tournament as the top scorer on track.

Next to add his name to the festivities was Alvarez, who, after a move ending in a bit of luck after it bounced off his chest whilst in his stride, finished comfortably.

2-0 to the Albiceleste after just 40 minutes....
