Araujo to undergo tests to determine extent of his ankle injury

FC Barcelona were able to take advantage of the draw between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid on Saturday to climb deep into the race for the La Liga title. The ‘Cules’ beat Sevilla 4-1 to close the gap on leaders Real Madrid to two points. 

However, it was not all good news on Andalusian soil for the Catalan side, as Ronald Araujo had to be substituted after he injured his ankle after a hard tackle by Saul Niguez. 

The ‘Jijantes’ cameras caught the Uruguayan defender arriving at the Barcelona training complex on Monday morning to undergo tests to determine the extent of the ankle injury he is suffering, which is rumoured to be up to three weeks out of action.

In addition, the Catalan media reported that Ansu Fati, Szczęsny, Christensen, Peña, Ferran, Olmo, Fermín and Lewandowski also turned up for training despite the three-day rest Hansi Flick had given the squad.
