Ancelotti to match Gento's European reign

A large part of the Real Madrid squad can come within one Champions League of what Paco Gento achieved with the European Cups. The former player, who passed away last January, won six titles in the competition.
Marcelo, Nacho, Carvajal, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Bale and Benzema could all reach five Champions League titles against Liverpool, but the man with the most in the current 'Los Blancos' squad is Carlo Ancelotti, who has five in total.
As a Milan player, the Italian won two, while at the helm of Real Madrid he won the 'Decima' in Lisbon and two more on the bench away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Therefore, this Champions League would mean equalling the white legend.
Those with five editions of the tournament are Cristiano Ronaldo, Di Stefano, Maldini and Zarraga. The Stade de France final will be the first Champions League final without Gento representing the Chamartín club.
Real Madrid's triumph would be a boost for the players in the current squad who have been involved in the previous titles since 2014. Even the less regulars could win a historic fifth Champions League title.
