Ancelotti decides to delay Alaba's debut

Up to now, Real Madrid's star signing this summer has been that of David Alaba, who joined from Bayern Munich on a free. He won basically everything at the German side. 

At 29, the footballer, who can play as a midfielder, full back or centre back, is a player Real Madrid are hoping will deliver to make sure the club do not have another trophyless season. 

This Sunday, Real Madrid continue pre-season against Rangers in a match which will not see the Austrian make his Real Madrid debut. 

'Marca' says that Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madri coach, has decided to leave him in the Spanish capital so that he can get to full fitness. 

This decision has been taken by the Italian after talking to the fitness trainer Pintus. He recommended not to risk one of his most important players ahead of the new season. Modric, Kroos, Bale and Varane, who have all arrived after playing at the Euros, will not travel either. 

Real Madrid's squad will also be subject to the results of the PCR tests the players had to take before going to Glasgow. Madrid will travel to Scotland on Sunday.
