Alexander Isak reaches verbal agreement with Liverpool

The Alexander Isak saga nears its conclusion. The Swedish striker, one of the most sought-after players in the market, has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool until 2031, according to 'Sky Sport Germany'. The Reds have accelerated negotiations with the player and now only need to finalise a transfer agreement with Newcastle.

However, this will be no easy feat as the Magpies are demanding a hefty £170 million for the Scandinavian forward. The Merseyside club are expected to make an offer of around £115 million in the coming days, a figure significantly below Newcastle's valuation.

Alexander Isak possesses many attributes that would make him a perfect fit for Liverpool, including his ability to operate effectively both inside and outside the penalty area. The Reds remain determined to assemble a highly competitive squad for the 2025-26 season.

So far, Arne Slot's team have already made six additions in the current transfer window, spending over £300 million: Frimpong (£40 million), Ármin Pécsi (£1.8 million), Florian Wirtz (£125 million), Milos Kerkez (£46.9 million), Woodmann (free) and Hugo Ekitiké (£95 million).
