Alderweireld's family given death threats
The Antwerp defender and ex-Belgium international Toby Alderweireld reacted to death threats aimed at his family online, where he received violent comments after scoring last Saturday against Genk, making his side virtual leaders of the Belgian League.
"Your daughter is going to die this weekend... I hope that your family dies... You can't win without the ref, great big cancer", an internet user wrote to him online after Antwerp's win over Genk in the play-off for the league title.
The ex-Atletico Madrid man reacted to the threats, condeming this type of comment.
"Everything has its limits. I can take everyuthing, but threatening my family goes too far. I don't understand why you write this to me and what you want to get out of these threats", the player wrote on Instagram after an anonymous internet user wished upn him, amongst other things, the death of his daughter.
