Spain came out at the Krestovski stadium eager to get ahead quickly in their final test of 2017. Lopetegui's men dominated possession and it was not long before they found the back of the net.
After nine minutes, Marco Asensio provided an inch-perfect cross for Jordi Alba to head home.
