Ajax cruise to victory

The visitors went out firing from the off and they managed to score the first goal quickly. Promes was the man who found the back of the net in the 25th minute which demoralised the opposition. Ziyech took advantage to score the second six minutes later. 

During the interval, Fraser was able to go over his tactics, but that was not enough to prevent the whole host of chances which their opponents had. Then, they had to resort to fouls to stop the team from Amsterdam from launching attacks. 

Tadic killed off the contest with Ajax's third which extinguished any faint hopes Sparta Rotterdam had of fighting back. A defensive error led to a penalty being awarded and the captain kept his cool from the spot to increase their lead. 

Two minutes later, Ziyech made it four. In the closing stages, Dervisoglu got a consolation for the home side which gave the home side something to shout about. 

Ajax are at the top of the table and remain unbeaten after registering three victories and a draw. They have 10 points and are ahead of Twente and Willem II.
