Gaya and Carlos Soler are two of the trendiest players in Spain. If football were a social network, they would be trending topic these days. And even more so after the latest news about the future of both of them.
According to information revealed on Wednesday by 'Plaza Deportiva', Valencia have offered Real Madrid the option to sign the full-back and the midfielder. The Valencian club, faced with the impossibility of closing their renewals, know that they only have two markets (summer and winter of next season) to take advantage financially. For their part, Real Madrid need to add youth their midfield (although Soler's profile is more of a winger) and cover the presumed departure of Marcelo, who is out of contract, so he could fit into their plans.
Both have contracts that expire on 30th June 2023. The Valencian club has tried to convince them to extend their contract, but so far they have not managed to do so. Their sporting project, increasingly close to mediocrity, and the amount of interested clubs that have come out are making their continuity a little more distant every day.
The most curious thing about this news is that a day before, this past Tuesday, Anil Murthy had a meeting with Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona. Apparently, these two names had also been on the table, although, from certain media, Gaya was left out of the equation.
Carlos Soler, at 25 years of age, has played a total of 2,874 official minutes in 37 games this season. With 12 goals and five assists, he is just one goal away from surpassing his best scoring record, achieved last season. For his part, Gaya, captain and emblem, at 26 years of age, has played 2,279 minutes in 30 matches this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
