AC Milan secure Modric, Allegri confirms arrival

Luka Modric is, or rather will be, a Milan player. Massimiliano Allegri, the 'Rossoneri's' new manager, has confirmed the signing unexpectedly, even before Real Madrid have finished the Club World Cup.
It is precisely that tournament which is delaying the Balkan star's arrival at San Siro. However, Allegri's words at the press conference leave no doubt, he will arrive at Milan.
"We are waiting for Modric, who is currently at the Club World Cup. He will arrive in August. He is an important, extraordinary player who needs no introduction," Allegri said at his unveiling as manager.
Modric's contract with Real Madrid has expired after more than a decade in the white shirt. The club from Chamartín decided not to renew one of the great figures in their history.
Furthermore, the 'Rossoneri' coach also confirmed that Mike Maignan would be staying, despite interest from Chelsea: "I am very happy to say that he has decided to stay. Mike remains as captain and is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe."
