Flare launched outside stadium in Genoa derby

A flare thrown by fans outside the Stadio Luigi Ferraris fell on the pitch on Sunday in the game between Sampdoria and Genoa, closed-door because of the coronavirus, and provoked a brief interruption of play.

In the 2nd minute of the derby, some fireworks started to be seen outside the stadium and, not long after, a flare fell inside the stadium attached to a small parachute, forcing the safety officers to intervene before the match could be resumed.

It isn't clear which of the fans were responsible for the throwing of the flare, although groups of fans met outside the stadium to show their support to their teams in this closed-door derby.
