Slot appeals for positive farewell for Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool finale

Liverpool, who wrapped up the Premier League title last month with four games to spare, will be presented with the trophy after Sunday's game against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.
For Alexander-Arnold, this match carries added significance as it marks the end of his Liverpool tenure, with the full-back poised to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer. Reports suggest he is likely to join Real Madrid.
Despite his important contributions over the years, the 26-year-old has faced some criticism from fans following news of his imminent departure. However, Slot remains hopeful that the fans will come together to give him the send-off he merits.
Speaking to the BBC, Slot emphasised the effort all players have put in to secure the title and urged supporters to acknowledge their dedication positively.
"I hope every player who has helped us win the league receives the recognition they deserve," said Slot. "They've worked incredibly hard, not only this season but throughout their careers. Their achievements are for themselves, and are also inspired by our supporters.
"It would be wonderful if the atmosphere on Sunday is entirely positive for everyone involved at the club, and Trent is very much a part of that. I hope I can encourage the fans in that direction, though naturally, they have their own views."
While Slot hopes the No.66 gets a fond farewell from fans, the Dutchman was critical about the right-back's efforts in training during his early weeks as Liverpool manager.
"He's going to leave either way, so maybe it's already a first gift I can give Xabi (Alonso, expected to be the new Real Madrid manager)," he said. "But I wasn't completely happy with every single minute of how he was on the training ground. So, in my opinion, in certain moments he could do a bit more, to say it mildly."
