Real Madrid pay €10m to sign Alexander-Arnold before Club World Cup

Liverpool confirmed on Friday that Real Madrid will pay a fee for Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Club World Cup. The Reds have not given details of the fee, but according to various reports, including one from journalist Fabrizio Romano, the figure will be in the region of €10m.
The Anfield outfit released a statement mid-morning announcing the winger's departure, in which they indicated that Los Blancos will pay to dispose of the player before the end of his contract, which expires on 30 June.
Alexander-Arnold will be available to Xabi Alonso on 14 June ahead of the start of the Club World Cup, a major objective for Los Blancos after failing to win any of the main titles at stake this season (La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League).
"Liverpool will receive a fee for his services and the deal will be completed when the transfer window opens on June 1," said Liverpool, who also thanked their former player for his work over the past 20 years.
"Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool with the club's appreciation and thanks for his contribution to all our successes," the Merseyside outfit concluded.
