Miami's Alba suffers injury two weeks before Club World Cup

Inter Miami claimed a crucial 4-2 win over Montreal to break their four-game winless streak in the Major League Soccer, but their celebrations were cut short by a major injury blow.

Jordi Alba was forced off the pitch after being dealt with muscle discomfort in the first half of the game. The Defender was subbed off in the 24th minute to make way for David Martinez.

The former Barcelona star is now a doubt for the start of the Club World Cup, with the expanded vesion of the tournament set to debut in just over two weeks, on June 14, in the United States.

Lionel Messi's Miami will kickstart the Club World Cup against Egyptian side Al Ahly, with Portugal's Porto and Brazil's Palmeiras being their remaining opponents in the group stages of the competition.
