Gabriel expresses pride after signing new Arsenal contract

Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a new contract with Arsenal and has made no secret of his delight at remaining at the club. “It's an amazing club and I'm so proud to sign a new contract,” said Gabriel.
Gabriel recalled that he joined Arsenal at a very young age and that, after almost five years, he has grown both personally and professionally. “I arrived here as a young player, and [now it’s] almost five years at this club. I'm so happy, and I've learned a lot here.”
The centre-back also valued the opportunity to have worn the captain's armband on a number of occasions, considering it a special honour. “I'm so proud of myself, and as well, to have worn the captain’s armband sometimes in this club.”
The Brazilian defender has underlined his pride at being one of the longest-serving players in the current squad. “I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club, my family loves it. I want to say thank you for everything. I love the fans, and I love how they push the team.”
