"Carvajal already has more Champions League titles than Barca"

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, said on Tuesday, at the presentation of the Gold Medal of the region to the player Dani Carvajal, that he already has "more Champions League (6) than Barcelona in its entire history".

Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid and Spanish national team player, has received the Gold Medal of the Community of Madrid and praised Madrid, saying that it is a "fantastic community to live in, that it never stops growing" and that "it never touches the ceiling".

Carvajal said that he enjoys "every day" his land, his community and his country. The Real Madrid player said he is "proud to be from Madrid and to carry this flag all over the world".

Carvajal was accompanied by the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, to whom he said that "without him this successful career would not have been possible".

President Isabel Diaz Ayuso, who presented the medal to Carvajal, highlighted his generosity and humility and said that he has earned a "place of honour in the history of Spanish sport".

"This medal rewards a record achieved with a great deal of sacrifice", said Díaz Ayuso and joked that Carvajal already has “more Champions League titles than Barcelona in its entire history”.
