Arsenal close in on Zubimendi signing pending medical

Martin Zubimendi is on the verge of becoming a new Arsenal player. According to the BBC, the Real Sociedad midfielder has already signed all the necessary documentation to formalise his transfer to the London club.
All that remains is for him to pass the medical before the deal is made official in the next few days, although it is doubtful whether it will be before he joins the Spain squad for the Nations League Final Four.
The signing will be completed after payment of the £51million release clause, which Arsenal will pay to Real Sociedad.
The English club had been working for months on bringing in the Spanish international, who was also being watched by other big European clubs such as Real Madrid.
Zubimendi, 26, will strengthen Mikel Arteta's midfield, an area where the team has been over-reliant on Thomas Partey.
